In 2002, Tim was first elected to the NC House of Representatives representing District 111, which consists of southern Cleveland County and the municipalities of Boiling Springs, Earl, Grover, Kings Mountain, Shelby, and Patterson Springs. In his first term in the House, Rep. Moore served as the Vice-Chairman of the Judiciary II Committee and a member of Appropriations, Transportation, Education, Alcohol Beverage Control Committees, and the Domestic Violence Study Committee. Rep. Moore also served as Co-Chairman of the Child Abuse, Neglect, Foster Care & Adoption Study Committee.
In 2004, Tim was re-elected to the House and has been instrumental in obtaining passage of a number of pieces of legislation of interest to Cleveland County. Rep. Moore presently serves as Chairman of the Campaign on Elections Law and Campaign Finance Reform, Vice-Chairman of the Judiciary II Committee and a member of Appropriations, Financial Institutions, Alcohol Beverage Control and Transportation Committees
Prior to serving in the NC House of Representatives, Tim served as a member of the UNC Board of Governors (1997 - 2001) as a House appointee. He also served as Cleveland County GOP Chairman (1998 - 2001) and as an alternate delegate to the Republican National Convention in 2000.
Rep. Moore has been active on a number of boards, committees and civic groups including the Shelby Rotary Club, Boy Scouts, Life Enrichment Center Board of Directors, Cleveland County Partnership for Children, and the Pope Center for Higher Education Policy.
Tim is a member of First Baptist Church of Kings Mountain.
